Matthew grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand, where he attended St Andrew’s College. He graduated from Massey University in 2006 and, a year or so later, moved to the United States. He joined the D. E. Shaw group in 2007 and is now part of the regulatory compliance team. He has traveled quite a bit (typical for an expat kiwi!), in part thanks to multi-year work assignments in Mumbai and London.

Paul grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania and attended Scranton Preparatory School prior to graduating from Fordham University, where he studied Visual Arts and Art History. He’s worked in various roles in marketing and strategy at Samsung and Altice. He’s always had a sense of adventure and enjoys traveling to new places around the world where he gets to indulge in local cuisine and snap a few photos.

We first met by chance in 2016 in New York over a round of craft beers. We were quickly thrown into the world of long-distance relationships, mostly between New York and London, with Dallas also briefly in the mix. But the experience strengthened our bond, as did our shared love of travel (which we did!), the outdoors and good food. We finally moved in together in 2019 in New York and became engaged in December 2020.
